How it works

Who does what

We're product designers and engineers. Instead of a room of item writers, we designed a system that writes, checks and scores the practice, and we set its rules: original items only, one correct answer, the published format. It writes each question and its explanation with AI language models. A second, separate model then solves every question without seeing the key; all 484 matched, and the ten it called ambiguous were rewritten or kept with a note. The same system read each program's own admissions page for its minimum, and a second pass re-checked 12 of them against the pages. Scoring is automatic, so no one reads your answers. Two automated passes can share a blind spot, so if you find an error, tell us (contact) and we correct it.

The questions

All original, written to the section sizes and topic mix ATI publishes for the TEAS: Reading 45, Mathematics 38, Science 50, English and language usage 37 [1]. We do not have, use or want real test questions. The bank has 484 questions: 40 held for the free practice test (we draw 15 of them each time, in roughly the real section mix), 2 full tests of 170, and 104 for drills. About one in five is not plain multiple choice (multiple select, ordered response, fill in the blank), as on the real test [2]. We do not have hot spot questions yet.

The clocks

Each section runs on its own timer at the official minutes per question: Reading 55 for 45, Mathematics 57 for 38, Science 60 for 50, English 37 for 37 [1]. Full tests and drills run on the same minutes per question as the real test. The free practice test is untimed, so you can go at your own pace before deciding. An on-screen four-function calculator is available in Mathematics, as on the real test.

Scoring

Each question is right or wrong with no partial credit, as ATI scores it [3]. Your result is the percent of questions answered correctly, shown per section and per topic. The levels we print (Developmental below 41%, Basic 41 to 58%, Proficient 59 to 79%, Advanced 80 to 91%, Exemplary 92% and up) are rounded from bands that prep sites quote for the real test; ATI's own score report may differ, so read ours as a practice estimate. A 15-question practice test swings more than a 170-question test.

Your minimum

We load the minimum from the program's page and link the page. Programs change rules, so confirm yours there. If your program is not in our list of 56, type your minimum.
